Who is Coach King?

I’m Ralph King IV, founder of Royalty Performance and an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Sacred Heart University. Here at SHU I work with baseball, women’s rugby, men’s wrestling, and women’s swim & dive. I also assist with football and manage all sports science technology for the team. My passion is developing athletes who are not only stronger and faster, but more resilient and prepared for the demands of competition and life.

I began my coaching journey at the University of Findlay, where I earned my Bachelor’s in Strength & Conditioning and Master’s in Education while also playing offensive line and helping the Oilers capture a conference championship in 2021. During this time, I gained hands-on experience as a strength & conditioning intern with Findlay athletics, working with multiple teams and learning the foundations of athlete development.

In the summer of 2023, I spent time with Kent State Football Strength & Conditioning, furthering my experience working with Division I athletes. In Winter 2023, I first joined Sacred Heart University as a Professional Intern Strength & Conditioning Coach, where I worked with track & field and assisted with football.

After that, I returned to Cleveland to serve as an Assistant Strength Coach and eventually worked my way up to Assistant Director of S&C at St. Ignatius High School, where I led training across multiple sports, integrated sports science tools like GPS and force plates, and helped grow the school’s performance program. That role paved the way for my return to SHU as a full-time Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach, where I now oversee baseball, women’s rugby, swimming & diving, and men’s wrestling, while assisting with football and managing all sports science technology for the team.

I am a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), USAW Olympic Weightlifting Coach, and FRCms (mobility specialist).

Through Royalty Performance, I bring the same detail and care I apply at the collegiate level to athletes and clients everywhere. My mission is simple: provide the tools, knowledge, and mindset to help you train smarter, perform better, and reach your full potential.
